The West Midlands League event at Brandon Wood, Coventry, organised by John Middler, attracted over 200 competitors, including many new orienteers from schools in the area. It was good to see teachers and pupils from Kenilworth and Bablake schools and a local scout group arrive in their mini buses.

Winners of the courses were all members of Octavian Droobers: White, Hattie Sarkies W10 15.31mins, Yellow, Christian Roberts M12 15.39mins, Orange, Cameron Williams-Stein M12 24.48mins, Light Green Felix Lunn M14 34.56mins, Short Green, Sheila Carey W65 36.43mins, Green, Lesley Ross W45 38.17mins, Blue, Chris McCartney M45 42.43mins and Brown Harrison McCartney M18 52.35mins. From the results at this event club championships age class winners will be decided and they will be announced and prizes presented at the Clubs annual Christmas party on 16 December.

Several Droobers competed at the Arrow Valley, Redditch, Park Run and then ran an orienteering course at the same venue, Josie and Pippa Smart W10 and W12 won the Short Course, in 11.32mins, Tabitha Lunn W12 was 2nd in 12.21mins and Fin Flippance M10 3rd in 30.14mins. Kerrie Flippance W40 was 2nd on the Medium course in 27.01mins and Florence Lunn W12 was 3rd in 30.19mins. David Leadley M50 was 2nd in 27.21mins and Chris McCartney M45 3rd in 27.30mins on the Long Course.
