OD JUNIORS FINISH 2nd AT NATIONAL INTERCLUB FINAL

Club captain Andy Emmerson congratulated the strong Octavian Droobers junior team of nearly 30, who were narrowly beaten into second place by Lakeland Orienteers in the Yvette Baker Trophy Final organised by Halo Orienteering Club and held at Mausoleum Woods near Grimsby.

Nine club juniors scored 878 points behind Lakelandā€™s 885 points. Julie Emmerson was awarded maximum 100 points by winning the Green course for girls, three juniors came second scoring 99 points - William Gardner on the Green course, Patrick Roddy on the Orange course and Aimee Morse on the Light Green course, Ella-Rose McCartney scored 98 on the Orange course, Harrison McCartney 97 on the Light Green Course, Rachel Emmerson 96 on the Green, Rachel Johnson 95 on the Orange and new member John Leyden 95 on the Yellow. Many other juniors scored over 90 points and Andy Emmerson said the club, who have won the trophy in the previous 4 consecutive years, will be taking up the challenge to do well again next year.
