Thank you to everyone who ventured out through the floods to attend what turned out to be not as wet an evening of orienteering as was forecast. The decision to plan an Odds & Evens Score as a practice (for me, for the Tony Haw in September) proved to be a good one, judging from most of the feedback I received. It did flummox a few people, but most of you followed the rules to the letter.
A mere 45 minutes was the time limit and a few people gained time penalties for running over time. 40 controls (20 Odd and 20 Even) seemed to provide a good variety of route choices and nobody managed to get them all. Well done to Felix Lunn for getting 32 within the time limit! Apologies for using the out-dated map (it is currently being up-dated in time for September). Apologies also to Nathan Chapple who had an Emit fail. He assures me that he punched ALL the controls!!!
My grateful thanks to: Liz Phillips for checking my Risk Assessment, Bruce Bryant for the Condes file and PDF conversion prior to printing, Link Mailing for re-sending double-sided maps in time, Leo Morgado for help with planning and putting out controls on the day (and for babysitting so Steph could get a run), Steph Howarth for help with Registration and Download, John Middler, Mike Snell, Marius Jasiulionis, Ian Gamlen, Steph Howarth, Liam, Nathan & Tom Chapple for help with control collection. All controls were safely gathered in and none went missing or were vandalised (always a bonus)!
