Organiser's Comments

Thank you to everyone who helped me out on my first attempt at organising a SEE, there’s more to it than meets the eye. Particular thanks to Frank for doing the ‘Blue Peter’ bit with the maps for the Map Memory Course, Bruce for sorting out the maps for printing and to Alan Segar for publishing the results on the web.

On the evening, thanks to John and Kath Wright for manning the gates (I’m sorry you got so cold), to Mel for helping with registration and providing First Aid cover, (fortunately not needed) and to John Wright, Anne Straube and Pete Carey for collecting controls. Also thanks to the very helpful staff at Charlecote, hope the lambing goes well!

There’s always the unpredictable – in this case the sheep plus electric fence being moved to a new area, necessitating a control being struck off the Orange and Map Memory courses and an OOB area being removed. There were some very fast times on Orange, some fought shy of attempting Map Memory! From the feedback received, most of those who did the Map Memory enjoyed the experience.
