Organiser / Planner's comments:

Thank you to everyone who came to the Draycote evening event. It is not the best area when the only way to get the distance up is an out and back along the reservoir particularly on the long course. Still, I received a lot of positive comments. The event was meant to be in May when the meadow grass would have been much shorter, however the reservoir had been so busy in lockdown access was only granted for July. Thank you to Margaret Willdig for getting the permissions in the end.

It was my first event using the SI system practicing for a bigger event in December and found the system quite easy to use. Graham came with the full download system which made the results much easier to process i.e. I had to do nothing, fantastic.

Thank you to Liz for her evaluation of the risk assessment adding the need for emergency water because of the heat. I think I was the only one who needed it. I really did get very dry and tired especially collecting controls at the end. Organisers/planners should be more careful when they have been in the heat for 6 hours. I should know betterā€¦

Thanks again to Bruce, who is doing a lot of hard work for the club, mapping, advising, sorting printing, entries, emails, the list goes on. Thanks to Sian for all her help and William for getting controls in.

Andy and Jill Emmerson are putting on the next event at Warwick University 18/8/21. They have put a lot of work into it and will be a great event. Please support it.
