YORKSHIRE WEEKEND RESULTS

 The annual White Rose Weekend attracted Octavian Droobers club members to take part in several races. There was a wide variety of events planned around the Gilling area of Yorkshire including a night score, middle and classic distance, a sprint, mountain bike score and entertainment including a maze, quiz and BBQ centred around the campsite. At the Gilling Castle sprint race Nathan Lawson M21 was 1st in the Mens Open. Racing. In their age classes Anne Straube was 2nd Womens Vet, Kirsten Strain 3rd Womens Open and Sue Bicknell 3rd Womens Hyper Vet. After competing in both the Middle and Classic races the overall results from club members were 1st place for Nathan Lawson in the M21 Long class and also a 1st place for Kirsten Strain in the W35 Long class. Anne Straube was 2nd in the W35 Long Class and Sue Bicknell 2nd W75 class.  

 

Free beginners session

Octavian Droobers Orienteering Club are introducing a series of free introductory sessions for beginners. On Saturday afternoon 3 September from 2pm until 3pm the club will be at St Nicholas Park, Warwick. All ages, especially families, are welcome to come along to experience this fun outdoor adventure sport. Full instructions will be given by local club members. Participants can walk or run around the park, using a free map to complete the trails, a bit like a treasure hunt. Trail lengths are from 1.9km to 3.6km.
