An OD Local event at Newbold Comyn, suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner (help and advice available) to the experienced orienteer.

Location : Newbold Comyn Country Park is located on the eastern edge of Leamington Spa 

Postcode: CV32 4EW will get you to the Leisure Centre, then follow the road another 350m to the carpark. Note there is a 2m height limit

Start times: from 11:00 to 12:00.

Short          2.2km / 30m / 1`1 controls             FULL
Medium     3.9km / 45m / 15 controls             EOD maps: 4
Long           5.1km / 90m / 24 controls             EOD maps: 4

Map: 1:7500 with 2.5m contours by Bruce Bryant, 2024 with selective revisions in 2025. Maps printed by BML on waterproof A4 paper

Terrain: It was a golf course but it is now a 120-hectare Country Park with wooded areas, old fairways with some contour detail, hills and an area that is now dominated by formal MTB trails. https://www.warwickdc.gov.uk/info/20317/newbold_comyn

COVID:  Please do not come if you have symptoms of Covid-19, or suspect you may have it.

Safety and Risk:
A risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If you have a high-risk medical condition you want organisers to be aware of please leave details at enquiries in a sealed envelope with your name on it. You can use this medical form. Envelopes will only be opened if required for a medical emergency. Unopened envelopes should be collected after the event. Any unclaimed envelopes will be destroyed after the event.
An emergency number for the day is printed on the map. First aid and details of the nearest A&E hospital will be available in the assembly area.

Photography:
British Orienteering has an agreed national guidance policy on the taking of photographs at events. If you are unsure about the agreed acceptable practice, please speak to the event organiser.

Privacy & Personal Data:
When entering events your personal details (name, age, gender, club) will appear in the results section on this website. It may also be used to trace missing runners and hired SI cards.

Insurance:
Please note: British Orienteering’s public liability insurance does not cover participants who are not members of British Orienteering. If you are not a member, by entering this event, you acknowledge that you are taking part at your own risk. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered.
