Joint OD Local League / LEI Summer League - Atherstone

A joint OD/LEI event, suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner (help and advice available) to the experienced orienteer.

Location: Cattle Market Car Park, Station St, Atherstone CV9 1DB. Parking is free but a ticket must be displayed. 

Starts: 18.00-19.00, courses close at 20.00

Entry: via The Start Kite Entries will open 3 weeks before or earlier.
Enter 3 days before the event to guarantee a map. Pay the entry fee to The Start Kite (account details will be displayed on screen when you confirm your entry).
Late entries and Entry on the Day: This is possible via The Start Kite depending on map availability. No cash entry on the day.

Terrain: Relatively flat urban terrain although both Long and Medium courses have a short "off-road" section with some hills.

Courses: Long, Medium and Short

Long:          4.6km (Optimum 6.7km) / 65m / 18 controls
Medium :   3.4km (Optimum 4.9km) / 50m / 15 controls
Short:         2.1km (Optimum 2.6km) / 15m / 11 controls

Map: Atherstone is drawn at a scale of 1 : 5000 with 2.5m contours. Maps are A4 pre-printed on waterproof paper. Map by Mike Hampton, with revisions and conversion to ISSprOM 2019-2 symbols by Bruce Bryant.

COVID: Please do not come if you have symptoms of Covid-19, or suspect you may have it.

Safety and Risk:
A risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event. If you have a high risk medical condition you want organisers to be aware of please leave details at enquiries in a sealed envelope with your name on it. You can use this medical form. Envelopes will only be opened if required for a medical emergency. Unopened envelopes should be collected after the event. Any unclaimed envelopes will be destroyed after the event.
An emergency number for the day is printed on the map. First aid and details of the nearest A&E hospital will be available in the assembly area.

Photography:
British Orienteering has an agreed national guidance policy on the taking of photographs at events. If you are unsure about agreed acceptable practise please speak to the event organiser.

Privacy & Personal Data:
When entering events your personal details (name, age, gender, club) will appear in the results section on this website. It may also be used to trace missing runners and hired SI cards.
