Miners Welfare Park "Traveller" update...

"Travellers" are in the SW corner of the park but they are only close to control 2 on the Long and Medium course. For these two courses you need to miss out controls 1 and 2, navigating direct to control 3 and proceed from there. The Short course (and Long part 2) should be fine

OD Local League Informal MapRun courses using Bedworth Miners Welfare Park and including parts of Bedworth Town Centre for the Medium and Long courses. Note that the Long course is basically the Medium course followed by a slightly cropped / revised Short course so it has 50 controls - you'll need to concentrate or check control codes as there are quite a few controls (pt.1 to pt.2) on the course only about 30-40m apart! The Short course is suitable for Juniors, those wanting a shorter run or anyone just wanting some "Sprint" course training.

Long          6.3km / 100m / 50 controls (double-sided map)
Medium    4.4km /  60m / 32 controls
Short         2.6km /  40m / 24 controls

Parking: Leisure Centre car park (follow road around & behind the Leisure centre),  Parking is free for up to 3 hours with a ticket – and without a ticket after 6pm.  OS Map Reference: SP359865. Leisure centre signed off Coventry Rd, Bedworth (traffic light junction). Post code: CV12 8NU although this shows on Google Maps as about 80m N of the access road.

Toilets: only open for the morning starts (behind the football stands, 150metres from car park).

The Mayor's Cafe: again only in the morning... Recommended for a good value lunch or just a drink and homemade cake. (350metres from car park)
