Joining

Octavian Droobers offers orienteering opportunities to people of all ages. Members take part at local, national and international levels depending on their ability or preference. Although there is no obligation to join the Club there are many advantages of being a Club member. In addition to the list of benefits offered by British Orienteering, shown below, Octavian Droobers publish a Club magazine six times a year. This is free to all members and is full of useful information about what is happening in the Club. In order to keep you right up-to-date the club also sends out messages on its email tree to those members who wish their names to be on the list. If you are of a competitive nature, being a member also gives you the opportunity to compete for the club in various inter-club competitions.

British Orienteering is the national governing body of the sport of orienteering in the UK and all members belong to both British Orienteering and their selected club, in this case Octavian Droobers. Many people take advantage of local membership to start with and then progress to national membership once they have sampled a few events and found they need more of a challenge.
Whatever you decide, if you wish to become a member at either local or national level then please apply directly to the Club membership secretaries.

Full details of how to join are on the membership application form which can be downloaded by clicking here.
