Great to see so many of you at the Common. Certainly more than last time I used these courses in July 2004. (Did anyone recognise them?) The weather was so much better this time!
It was a good job Nadine and I decided to check that things were still the same 2 years on because there was certainly not a Fair last time. However a few last minute adjustments managed to overcome it. Sorry for those on the Yellow who had a rather short run round the field but it was difficult to do anything else what with the Fair and the busy roads. At least you did not suffer missing controls.
There did not seem to be much I could do to stop controls disappearing. I tried to put the vunerable controls out very late but just seeing people using them seemed to be enough to have them disappear.
I have not penalised anyone in the results but have mentioned which were actually missing when we went to collect them. There were three that affected competition time although two more went as we were collecting - thrown in the trees or torn up. Thanks to Ulli, Miranda, Greta and John Bowman for helping with this (The collecting not the throwing into trees!)
