Organisers Comments
An encouraging turnout of about 45 people made the first Saturday event of the season
go with a swing! This was Matt's first attempt at planning a course, albeit with a bit of my
help, but I take full responsibilty for the three misplaced controls that especially affected
the earlier runners. That'll teach me to check my master controls map in future! It seems
that people enjoyed the mix of path/track running and the route choice options at the
North of the map. However with a winning time of under 30 minutes I wonder if we
should have gone for a second master map? Anyway the children from KH8 seemed to
have a good morning and the score format is primarily for them as practice for the British
Schools Score in a couple of weeks. I hope you all enjoyed your run.
Thanks as always to Helen and Matt for all their help both on the day and in preparation,
and also to Rachel Emmerson who kindly helped to collect the controls at the south of the
map.
