WEEKEND RESULTS FROM CAMBERLEY AND ASHBY DE LA  ZOUCH

Barossa, near Camberley in Surrey, was venue for the annual Concorde Chase event organised by Berkshire Orienteers. Harrison McCartney was 1st M18 and 2nd overall on the Black 11.8km, the longest course, taking 1.02.03mins just over a 1 minute behind Oxford University’s Jegor Kostylev M21. Dave Marr was 1st placed M65 on the Brown 8.3km course taking 1.16.30mins and Carolyn Marr 3rd placed W65 on the Green 4.5km course in 55.52mins.

The East Midlands ranking event at Hicks Lodge near Ashby de la Zouch, organised by Leicestershire Orienteering club, proved quite a muddy challenge but Octavian Droobers club members had some good runs. Bruce Bryant M55 was 1st on the Green 4.4km course taking 38.53mins and Richard Gardner M60 was 5th in 40.40mins. Sian Gardner W55 was 5th in 48.16mins on the Light Green 3.4km course. On the Orange 3.3km course new member Danny Kelly M45 was 2nd in 47.47mins, Rachel Alexander W55 3rd in 52.45mins and Diana Hailey W70 4th in 54.36mins. New junior club member Bethan Dunn W12 was 2nd on the Yellow 2.1km course in 21.38mins.
