Kingsbury Water Park - Tony Haw Score

Club event suitable for everyone from the absolute beginner to the experienced orienteer.

This event is ideal practice for anyone taking part in the British Schools Score Championships (BSSC) which takes place on Saturday, October 12th, at Heaton Park, Manchester .

Kingsbury Water Park lies between the A4091 and A4097, 5 miles south of Tamworth. The park entrance is on the south west side, near Bodymoor Heath. It is signposted from the A4097, two miles east of its junction with the A446 and the M42 junction 9. Also from the A4091, one mile north of its junction with the A446. Map reference SP 205958 on sheet 139.

Post code is B76 0DY. Entrance to the park is through a coin operated barrier and there is a charge for all vehicles. This now appears to have increased to £4.50 per car, payable at the barrier as you enter, which accepts £1, 50p, 20p and 10p coins.

Entries on the day only. Registration from 10.30 to 12.00 am. Seniors: £5.00; Juniors and students: £1.00. (Usual Sunday entry fees reduced to partially offset the cost of entering the park.) The EMIT electronic punching system will be used. EMIT card hire £1.00 per card.

Start times from 11.00 until 12.30. 45 minute score event.

Pre-marked maps. There will be a subset of controls forming a simple Yellow standard course, suitable for novices, although no-one is restricted to these controls and anyone may visit as many controls as the time allows. These rules are identical to those for the BSSC.
