Burton Dassett Hills - Night Score event

Burton Dassett country park is a compact hilly open area with an area of complex contours in the centre.
Location : CV47 2AB, between Banbury and Leamington Spa and a few km south of Jn12 on the M40.

The start will be from the most Northerly car park.
A 45 minute ‘Odds and Evens’ score event with a 2 sided map. Runners will start with the odd numbered controls. At any time they can return to a transition control before turning over the map and starting the even numbers, with no going back to the odd numbers.
10 points for every odd numbered control and 20 for every even numbered control.
-10 points for every minute or part of over 45 minutes.
ISSprOM "Sprint spec" map at a scale of 1:5000 with 2m contours (to help accurately show the flatter complex area!).

Burton Dassett is an exposed hill top and orienteers will be expected to dress for January night weather conditions and carry a whistle. Cagoules may be mandatory depending upon the forecast and a backup light source should be carried. Juniors should be accompanied by an adult.
Please do not attend if there is any likelihood of you having Covid and maintain the usual precautions at the event.
