OD Local League Informal MapRun courses using the streets and parks of Kenilworth. Choice of morning or evening starts. Note that this event is on a Monday.
Venue and Parking:Castle Farm Leisure Centre. Fishponds Road. Kenilworth. CV8 1EY.
Start times:10:30 - 11:00 or 18:00 - 18:30
Courses:
Short 3.o km. / 15m / 17 controls (optimum ~4.9km) (no unaccompanied Under 16's)
Medium 4.5 km / 35m / 25 controls .(optimum ~6.6km) (no unaccompanied Under 16's)
Long 6.6 km / 70m / 36 controls (optimum ~9.6km) (no unaccompanied Under 16's)
Waterproof SRA3 map for all courses. LiDAR based ISSprOM map at 1:5000 with 2.5m contours.
To reserve a map you need to pre-enter by email totony.feltbower(at)yahoo.co.ukby Saturday 21st Maywith name, club, age class, course that you want to run and whether you want a morning or evening start.
Entry fee: £2 payable on the day (with correct cash if possible).
Once maps are printed there may be a few spare maps available for late entry.

JUNIORS EXCEL AT WEST MIDLANDS SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIPS Pupils from Coventry and Warwickshire schools competed in the West Midlands Schools Orienteering Championships at an event organised by City of Birmingham Orienteering Club and held at Sandwell Valley Country Park. Congratulations to Octavian Droobers juniors who represented their schools and achieved some great individual top 3 results: Andrew Tang, Park Hill Junior School, Kenilworth, won the Year 5 Boys class and Henry Jeffries, Princethorpe College, was 1st in the Year 9/10 Boys class. WILL AND NATHAN SELECTED FOR GB TEAMS Congratulations to Will Gardner and Nathan Lawson who will be representing GB at the World Cup 1 in Sweden, 26 – 29 May. This event is a sprint series, with Individual, Knock-out and Mixed Sprint Relay races. They will be joining 11 other selected men and women. Following this the World Sprint Orienteering Championships will be taking place a month later in Denmark from 26 – 30 June. The club wishes them well at both events. ANNUAL EASTER WEEKEND OF ORIENTEERING IN WALES This year the annual multi-day Easter Weekend of Orienteering was held in Wales. The JK2022 event, comprising three racing disciplines, sprint, middle and long distance, and a relay on Day 4, attracted over 2000 entries. A large team of Octavian Droobers Club members enjoyed the fine weather and some great locations.
