CLUB JUNIORS WIN WEST MIDLANDS SCHOOLS TITLES

Over 180 school children from across the West Midlands ran around courses at Park Hall Country Park, Stoke on Trent, organised by the Potteries Orienteering Club. Representing schools around Coventry, Warwickshire and OD areas it was great to see that five OD juniors became West Midlands Schools Champions out of a possible 10 classes.

The champions from primary schools were Florence Lunn Year 5 Girls and Peter Markham Year 6 Boys, and from secondary schools Alfie Bullus Year 9/10 Boys, Aimee Morse Year 11 Girls and Harrison McCartney Year 11 Boys. Full results are on the POTOC website.

Congratulations to Nathan Lawson M18 who has been selected to join the 33 other sixteen, seventeen and eighteen year old athletes at the British Orienteering Summer Talent Camp to be held at Badaguish in the Cairngorms, Scotland at the end of July.

Five club members clocked up second places in the Walton Chasers West Midlands Urban League event around Lichfield: Kin Kwan Kwok M20 42.40mins on the long 6.34km course, Peter Carey M70 32.59mins on the 4.01km course, Oliver Flippance M14 31.47mins on the 3.28km course and Peter Markham M12 15.41mins on the 2.08km course.
